Non-LIYB organised events: related construction professions

• 2008 SUMMER PARTY for Young Built Environment Professionals,

• Designing 'Natural' Play Environments - supported by CABE Space
   
  A conference to be held at The Edge Conference Centre at The University of Sheffield on 1 and 2 July (arrive evening of 30 June) and 16 and 17 September (arrive evening of 15 September).
   
  This two day conference has speakers: Aileen Shackell (Chartered Landscape Architect and co-author of Design for Play guidance for Play England), Robin Sutcliffe (Chair of the Play Safety Forum), David Yearly (Head of Play Safety at ROSPA) and Helen Woolley (Chartered Landscape Architect, researcher of children's environments and CABE Space Advisor).
   
  As well as speakers there will be time to reflect on the issues and put them into practice in design workshops - so bring information about a real site with you.  You might want to attend with other colleagues - play workers, health and safety officers or maintenance staff.  CABE Space are providing CABE Space advisors to support the event by helping with discussion and design.
   
  *COST: £380* per person includes all meals (including a conference dinner), en suite accommodation for 2 nights, all speakers and workshop sessions. (Because we are keeping the cost as low as we can there are no reductions for groups)

• LEEDS GREEN DRINKS
  Leeds Green Drinks is a social networking event in the early evening of the fourth Tuesday every month for anyone in the Leeds area interested in green issues and the environment.  Whatever your perspective - business, community or government, academic, student or activist - Leeds Green Drinks is a great way to make new contacts, catch up with friends or just hangout with people who share your values.   As part of the international Green Drinks network - active in over 300 cities worldwide, we are a green social networking event in every sense - 'self-organising' and 'organically-growing' - so spread the word and see you at the next Leeds Green Drinks!
